Ohio Medicaid is under threat.

We must act now to protect 770,000 Ohioans. This is about responsible use of tax dollars and proactive planning — not waiting until it’s too late.

Without Medicaid, we’d be forced to choose between groceries and medical care.
My family’s been through a lot. I’m a survivor of childhood sexual assault and domestic violence. I live with PTSD, and so do my children. One of my children is on ADHD medication, and both need regular mental health counseling. I have chronic asthma...

People die without Medicaid. I’m living proof of that.
Nearly six years ago, I was trapped in addiction with no way out. I had tried to get clean on my own, but it never worked — until I got Medicaid. That’s when the doors finally opened.

Without Medicaid, my family would be lost.

Medicaid is saving my son’s life.

What's happening
If federal Medicaid expansion funding drops, Ohio law will trigger an automatic kill switch — instantly stripping healthcare coverage from 770,000 of our friends, family and neighbors in urban and rural areas alike.
What's happening

Why it matters
Abruptly dropping 770,000 people from coverage would overwhelm hospitals with uninsured patients; shift costs to state and local governments; and threaten Ohio’s economy and workforce stability.

What you can do
Ohio needs an orderly plan if federal funding dips. Ask your state representative to support a budget amendment to require a phased transition to prevent the catastrophic, sudden loss of care for working-class Ohioans.
Our Mission
The Ohio Medicaid Matters Coalition is committed to promoting Medicaid as a foundation of health and economic stability, recognizing that access to healthcare empowers Ohioans to work, contribute and drive economic growth.
